About Clear Concepts

Nicolas Cohn-Lopez founded Clear Concepts Tutoring in January 2015 after graduating from the University of California Santa Barbara. During his freshman year of high school, he started helping his peers understand math concepts. That is when Nicolas realized that not only did he have a knack for tutoring, but he also enjoyed it. Seeing his peers succeed brought him a sense of accomplishment and pride. While at UCSB, he worked as a math and physics tutor at the drop-in room for the Campus Learning Assistance Services. After arriving in Los Angeles in 2015, he started privately tutoring students of all levels in math, physics, test prep, and many other subjects. He has over 13 years of tutoring experience.

Nicolas earned his degree in English with a minor in physics. His diverse educational background allows him to tutor a range of subjects – from English and writing to math and physics. When his first student got into USC, he realized tutoring was about more than just grades and test scores: it was about improving confidence in learning.

No matter what a student’s level, as long as they are willing to learn, improvement will follow.
