Knowing a school means knowing its math sequence, its English teachers' grading habits, and its admissions calendar — so session time goes to the work, not to me catching up. My home turf — Harvard-Westlake's Coldwater Canyon campus is a ten-minute drive from my desk, and evening sessions land after practice without anyone crossing a canyon.
