Crespi is the all-boys Carmelite high school on Alonzo Avenue in Encino — about 460 students, fourteen honors and twenty-one AP courses. I tutor its applicants through the HSPT, and its enrolled students through the year — one-on-one, at your home or online. Every session is with me.
Clear Concepts Tutoring is an independent tutoring practice and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Crespi Carmelite High School. I tutor students who attend or are applying to the school.
Different needs, different plans.
Path one · Applying
Crespi requires the HSPT of every applicant and gives it on campus on January 2 and January 16, 2027, 9:00 to 12:30 — the earliest dates of any Valley school, which means prep has to happen in the fall, not over winter break. Applications are preferred by January 31, interviews follow in February, and decisions arrive the first Friday of March. We start with a full timed diagnostic and work backward.
Path two · Enrolled
With fourteen honors and twenty-one AP courses on offer, the pace picks up fast. I support enrolled Crespi students with steady weekly sessions across math, the sciences, English and history, synced to the school's calendar.
One accountable person with a phone number — not an agency roster. The rhythm below is the same one every family on my calendar gets.
I've worked with LA independent- and neighborhood-school families since 2013. The expectations, the calendars, and the pace are all familiar ground.
Sessions intensify before assessment weeks and ease after. The plan follows your student's actual calendar, not a generic curriculum binder.
I work until 9 PM, in-home across my service area or online — so sessions land after practice or after dinner — not in the middle of a working parent's afternoon.
Same tutor in September and in May, and a written note to you after every single session. You always know where things stand.
Yes — both eighth graders applying to Crespi and students already enrolled there.
Applicants get HSPT prep built around Crespi's early-January test dates; enrolled students get year-round support across the core subjects. Every session is with me, in your home or online.
Crespi administers the HSPT on its Encino campus on January 2 and January 16, 2027, from 9:00 to 12:30, and requires it of every applicant.
Because the first date lands right after New Year's, the prep window is October through December. Confirm the dates on Crespi's admissions page; my HSPT page covers how I prepare students.

What I bring is thirteen years of working with families at LA's independent, Catholic and neighborhood schools — as an outside, accountable tutor with a phone number.
