Flintridge Prep is the co-ed independent school for grades 7–12 on Crown Avenue in La Cañada Flintridge — about 530 students, sixteen AP and twenty honors courses. I tutor its applicants through the ISEE or SSAT, and its enrolled students through the year — one-on-one, online or at your home. Every session is with me.

Path one · Applying
Flintridge Prep requires testing of every applicant: the ISEE or SSAT for grades 7–9, with the PSAT, SAT or ACT also accepted for grades 10 and 11. Seventh and ninth are the main entry years. Applications are due January 6, 2027, test scores and other supporting documents by January 20, and decisions are emailed March 12. Counting back, the fall is the prep window: we start with a full timed diagnostic, pick the test that fits your student, and plan backward from the test date.
Path two · Enrolled
Flintridge Prep limits juniors and seniors to five honors and AP courses, which says something about how much each one asks. I support enrolled students with steady weekly sessions across math, the sciences, English and history, timed around the school's rotating block schedule.

I've worked with LA independent- and neighborhood-school families since 2013. The expectations, the calendars, and the pace are all familiar ground.

Applicants get ISEE or SSAT prep built around the January deadlines; enrolled students get year-round support across the core subjects. Every session is with me, online or in your home.
Every applicant must test. Grades 7–9 submit the ISEE or the SSAT; grades 10 and 11 may also submit the PSAT, SAT or ACT.
