Louisville is the all-girls Sisters of St. Louis high school on Mulholland Drive in Woodland Hills — twenty-three AP classes and no HSPT requirement. I tutor its applicants on the grades and honors-placement exams that actually decide the file, and its enrolled students through the year — one-on-one, at your home or online. Every session is with me.
Clear Concepts Tutoring is an independent tutoring practice and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Louisville High School. I tutor students who attend or are applying to the school.
Different needs, different plans.
Path one · Applying
Louisville no longer requires the High School Placement Test, and scores from other schools are not used for admission or honors placement. What carries the file is sixth- through eighth-grade transcripts, math, English and personal recommendations, a student statement and essay, and the interview, plus optional proficiency exams for honors placement (January 20–21, 2027 for math and humanities; January 19 for modern language). The priority application deadline is January 15, 2027 — applications in by then are automatically considered for scholarships and get their decision on March 5, 2027 — with transcripts and recommendations due January 22. My job in the fall is seventh- and eighth-grade grades — and, if honors math or English is the goal, preparing for those placement exams.
Path two · Enrolled
Twenty-three AP classes and a strong honors track mean the pace builds year over year. I support enrolled Louisville students with steady weekly sessions across math, the sciences, English and history, synced to the school's calendar.
One accountable person with a phone number — not an agency roster. The rhythm below is the same one every family on my calendar gets.
I've worked with LA independent- and neighborhood-school families since 2013. The expectations, the calendars, and the pace are all familiar ground.
Sessions intensify before assessment weeks and ease after. The plan follows your student's actual calendar, not a generic curriculum binder.
I work until 9 PM, in-home across my service area or online — so sessions land after practice or after dinner — not in the middle of a working parent's afternoon.
Same tutor in September and in May, and a written note to you after every single session. You always know where things stand.
Yes — both eighth graders applying to Louisville and students already enrolled there.
Applicants get help where it counts: sixth- through eighth-grade grades, the student statement and essay and, if they want honors placement, the January proficiency exams. Enrolled students get year-round support across the core subjects. Every session is with me.
No. Louisville states that it no longer requires the High School Placement Test, and HSPT scores taken at other schools are not used for admission or honors placement.
Louisville offers optional subject-specific proficiency exams for honors placement, scheduled January 19–21, 2027 (math and humanities on the 20th and 21st), and its priority application deadline is January 15, 2027, with decisions on March 5, 2027. If your daughter is also applying to a school that does test, the HSPT still matters there — one plan covers both.

What I bring is thirteen years of working with families at LA's independent, Catholic and neighborhood schools — as an outside, accountable tutor with a phone number.
