Chaminade is the co-ed Marianist school with its high school campus in West Hills and its middle school in Chatsworth — about 1,900 students, forty advanced and college-credit courses, and no entrance exam. I tutor its applicants on the grades that decide the file, and its enrolled students through the year — one-on-one, at your home or online. Every session is with me.
Clear Concepts Tutoring is an independent tutoring practice and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Chaminade College Preparatory. I tutor students who attend or are applying to the school.
Different needs, different plans.
Path one · Applying
Chaminade states that an entrance exam is not required for admission. What the committee reads is the transcript, a student questionnaire and essay, teacher and principal recommendations, and a family interview. The application and its checklist items are due January 15, 2027, and decisions arrive March 5, 2027. That makes seventh- and eighth-grade grades the whole game, which is exactly the kind of steady, subject-by-subject work I do. If Chaminade shares a list with Notre Dame or Crespi, the HSPT still matters there — one plan covers both.
Path two · Enrolled
With forty advanced and college-credit courses on offer, thirty-one of them AP, placement and pacing decisions come early. I support enrolled Chaminade students with steady weekly sessions across math, the sciences, English and history, synced to the school's calendar.
One accountable person with a phone number — not an agency roster. The rhythm below is the same one every family on my calendar gets.
I've worked with LA independent- and neighborhood-school families since 2013. The expectations, the calendars, and the pace are all familiar ground.
Sessions intensify before assessment weeks and ease after. The plan follows your student's actual calendar, not a generic curriculum binder.
I work until 9 PM, in-home across my service area or online — so sessions land after practice or after dinner — not in the middle of a working parent's afternoon.
Same tutor in September and in May, and a written note to you after every single session. You always know where things stand.
Yes — both students applying to Chaminade and students already enrolled there, at the West Hills high school or the Chatsworth middle school.
Applicants get help where it counts: the grades and recommendations the committee actually reads. Enrolled students get year-round support across the core subjects. Every session is with me.
No. Chaminade's application page states that an entrance exam is not required as part of the admissions process.
Admission rests on the transcript, a student questionnaire and essay, teacher and principal recommendations, and a family interview; the application is due January 15, 2027 and decisions arrive March 5, 2027. If your student is also applying to a school that does test, such as Notre Dame or Crespi, I fold HSPT prep into the same plan.

What I bring is thirteen years of working with families at LA's independent, Catholic and neighborhood schools — as an outside, accountable tutor with a phone number.
